KAMPALA, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's national cricket team left for South Africa on Tuesdayfor build-up games ahead of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Division II tournament slated for Jan. 17-24 in Namibia.


The team will camp for six days in Cape Town before connecting to Namibia.


"We are aware of the challenge at the tournament, but we are sure playing some build-up matches in South Africa will make us sharp," team captain Frank Nsubuga told Xinhua before departure.


Uganda will be contesting for the top four slots against Canada, Kenya, Namibia, Nepal and the Netherlands. The East African country needs to win at least two of its five matches for them to be assured of staying in Division II.


The four teams that stay in Division II after the tournament in Namibia will receive over 600,000 U.S. dollar funding from the International Cricket Council.




Prague， May 16 (Xinhua) -- Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych has ended cooperation with his coach Daniel Vallverdu after 17 months， announced the world No.8 player on Monday in a press release.


He has no coach at present， one week before the grand slam Roland Garros.
