ULAN BATOR, June 16 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson of the Japanese foreign ministry was bombarded with questions on Japan's role in the South China Sea disputes between China and Philippines and avoided any direct answers to these questions at a press briefing on Friday.
Yasuhisa Kawamura, spokesperson of the Japanese foreign ministry, held a press briefing, attended by journalists from Xinhua, Reuters, Bloomberg, AFP, Montsame and some Japanese media Friday night on the sideline of the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit in Ulan Bator.
During the Q&A session, he appeared uneasy with the questions related to the South China Sea issue.
A Bloomberg journalist asked ""in these meetings, what was said about the allegation that Japan manipulated The Hague's ruling on the South China sea,"" referring to the meetings between Chinese and Japanese leaders.
The Japanese spokesperson shun the questions by saying ""your question is unrelated to today's meeting.""
Reuters journalist asked ""if Japan is pushing to have the South China Sea mentioned in the closing remarks of the communique and was that discussed with China?""
A Xinhua journalist asked the spokesperson to comment on remarks by the United Nations on its official microblog that it has nothing to do with the arbitration tribunal that handled the South China Sea disputes. The spokesperson said ""I need to clarify on this,"" but did not answer the question.
An ad hoc tribunal, set up at the unilateral request of the former Philippine government, on Tuesday issued an ill-founded award sweepingly siding with Manila, denying China's long-standing historic rights in the South China Sea.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Friday during a meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Shinzo Abe that Tokyo should stop hyping up and interfering in the South China Sea issue, urging the two countries to properly manage their differences.
Li said that China's stance on the South China Sea issue is completely in line with international law and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.
Japan is not a state directly involved in the South China Sea issue, and thus should ""exercise caution in its own words and deeds, and stop hyping up and interfering in"" the issue, he said.

HOUSTON Cheap Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , July 13 (Xinhua) -- The Houston Rockets on Sunday decided to let Chandler Parsons go, choosing not to match a three-year, 46 million U.S. dollars contract offered by the Dallas Mavericks.
Two days ago, they already traded away Jeremy Lin to free more salary cap to land Chris Bosh, unsuccessfully.
The Rockets made the decision not to match Parsons' offer sheet, because they believed that with the contracts held by Parsons, Dwight Howard and James Harden they would be essentially locked in to a team that was not strong enough to win a championship, a league source told the Houston Chronicle.
In such a move, Houston may be eyeing next summer when they could have up to max cap room to buy a top free agent who can join Howard and Harden to build the team into a championship contender.
They were trying to do that in the last couple of weeks when they first traded Omer Asik and then Lin to free up salary cap room. Houston wooed LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh, among other big names.
They gave Lin's uniform number to 'Melo on a videoboard when he visited Houston, had all top executives and key players entertain him, but didn't win him over. Anthony opted to stay with the New York Knicks eventually, with a five-year, 120 million dollars deal.
Then it was Bosh. Everyone was expecting him to accept Houston's offer Friday when came the news that LeBron James had chosen to leave the Miami Heat and return to Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Rockets moved in to swipe the power forward of their dreams from the Heat. They even attached a first-round pick to Lin and agreed to send them to the Lakers, purging Lin's contract from the roster just as they had agreed to ship out Asik's.h But in a dramatic turn of events, Bosh turned around and headed back to Miami, taking a five-year 118 million dollars max offer worth roughly 33 million dollars more than the Rockets could offer over four seasons.
The Rockets was practically left in limbo after all their eyed choices were gone. In an effort to mend the fence, they scrambled to sign the Washington Wizards free agent Trevor Ariza on Saturday.
Ariza, who played for Houston in 2009 season, agreed to a four-year, 32 million dollars contract to return to Houston, five years after they signed him away in free agency.
A 10-year veteran, Ariza is coming off perhaps his best season, averaging 14.4 points for the Wizards, on 45.6 percent shooting and 40.7 percent 3-point shooting. He ranked among the league's top 15 players in 3-pointers made and 3-point shooting percentage and excelled defensively.
He does not, however, replace Bosh, who would have neatly slid in as a perfect fit power forward, in the Rockets' schemes. And Houston fans would not see him as a playmaker to lead the team to their dreamed championships.
On Sunday, Lin's tenure in Houston is officially over. After two seasons that began with enormous hopes and expectations and ended with a diminished and often controversial role coming off the bench, he might be more or less relieved leaving the team.
The Rockets completed their cap-clearing trade of Lin to the Lakers on Sunday, the Lakers announced,.
